Add a privacy disclosure
Most jurisdictions (GDPR in the EU, POPIA in South Africa, CCPA in California) require you to tell visitors that you record session activity. Replayful gives you a ready-to-paste snippet so this is a two-minute job.
Where to get the snippet
Open any project, switch to the Privacytab. You'll see two formats:
- Plain text, drop into your existing privacy policy as a new section. Edit the voice to match the rest of your policy.
- HTML, for a standalone page at
/privacy/session-replay(or wherever you prefer). Includes semantic headings and a contact email.
What to do with it
- Click the
Copybutton on the snippet card. - Paste it into your privacy policy, or publish it as its own page.
- Link to it from your site footer (most users do this alongside their cookie policy).
What the snippet says
The disclosure accurately describes Replayful's behaviour:
- What we record, mouse movement, clicks, scrolls, page URL, technical metadata, country.
- What we never record, input field values, passwords, payment details, third-party iframe content.
- Identifiers, anonymous local-storage ID; no advertising cookies.
- Retention, recordings auto-purge after 90 days.
- Visitor opt-out, Do Not Track + clear local storage.
Not legal advice
The snippets are accurate descriptions, but they are not legal advice. If you operate in a regulated industry (health, finance, regulated EU products), have your counsel review the wording. We provide accurate facts; you provide the legal framing.
